We are building new processing capabilities around the world, and emphasizing emerging, innovative technologies, such as continuous processing, biotech platforms, and advanced data and control systems. Additionally, we are recapitalizing older assets and bringing the operational philosophies in line with current technologies. Lilly places a high value on fully automated manufacturing processes, as the quality and operational benefits are baseline expectations of new process design.</p> <p>Digital Manufacturing Engineering (DME) is part of the Corporate Engineering Tech Center (ETC). The ETC is a technical resource for training, standards, project implementation, and the center of engineering excellence for the corporation, providing deeply technical resources to solve the most intractable technical problems in manufacturing. DME provides business ownership of Digital Engineering Platforms, OT data integration solutions, engineering data standardization/ownership, digital manufacturing solutions, and leads OT Data Integrity and Cyber Security initiatives and standards globally for Lilly Manufacturing. Our team focuses on connecting our facilities (securely) and leveraging the data from those facilities to deliver digital manufacturing solutions to improve manufacturing productivity, data integrity / compliance, quality, and operational excellence. Digital Manufacturing Technologies include digital twins, computational modeling, edge/IoT, and analytics solutions.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>The Associate Director - Digital Engineering Solutions position, within the ETC Digital Manufacturing Engineering team, has overall responsibility for supervision, safety, performance, and development of direct-reporting employees. The team typically consists of 8-12 Lilly engineers plus additional external contingent workers, mainly focused on digital engineering solutions (computational modeling, analytics, digital twins, digitized engineering business processes, etc.). This role will manage and monitor business results, compliance, productivity improvement, and overall customer service for the team, while streamlining processes, prioritizing work, and supporting the overall DME strategy.</p> <p>The Associate Director role will provide discipline leadership in technology development, knowledge sharing, mentoring of junior talent, as well as provide technical leadership to sites, support major project delivery, support key initiatives led by the tech center, collaborate with Lilly's MQ IT organization and network with external benchmarking communities. This role will be a member of ETC DME lead team.</p> <p>Key Objectives/Deliverables</p> <ul> <li>Lead HR processes, including performance management, compensation management, reward and recognition, talent assessment, promotion, recruiting, and succession planning. Coach and develop team members. </li><li>Support and lead diversity initiatives. </li><li>Support DME team strategy, business planning, and team building activities. </li><li>Digital Manufacturing Engineering Discipline and Technical Leadership - Partner with peer groups and manufacturing sites on solution assessments, reuse/replication opportunities, and concept development. Manage tools, engineering standards, master specifications and best practices. </li><li>Knowledge Sharing - Provide technical coaching and mentoring to Lilly engineers. Document learning through peer-reviewed technical documents. Facilitate shared learning forums such as conferences and user groups. </li><li>roject Delivery Leadership - Support digital engineering solution delivery by providing appropriate oversite, tracking key milestones and delivery commitments, and reporting to senior leadership on progress and barriers. </li><li>External Influence and Benchmarking - Monitor and influence external industry trends for digital manufacturing technologies and solutions. </li><li>Support and own global DME sponsored programs and initiatives. </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science field </li><li>Minimum 5 years' pharmaceutical manufacturing experience in engineering or related functional area. </li><li>Minimum 3 years' experience with digital manufacturing engineering technologies (digital twin, computational modeling, data analytics, etc.). </li><li>Previous supervisory experience or technical leadership </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills/Preferences</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge in data systems, historians, and reporting platforms. </li><li>Knowledge of project management and vendor management </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communications skills </li><li>cGMP Regulatory knowledge in process or automation engineering </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <ul> <li>This position supports Lilly's drug product and drug substance network globally and may require US and OUS travel (up to 15%) as well as off-hour meetings due to time zone differences. </li><li>Monday through Friday, Day Shift </li></ul> <p>Lilly is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities to actively engage in the workforce, ensuring equal opportunities when vying for positions. The anticipated wage for this position is</p> <p>$118,500 - $173,800</p> <p>Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
