<p>NIGHT SHIFT PER DIEM (PRN) - 7PM TO 7AM</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Nursing Assistant performs patient care support duties related to environmental, dietary, transportation, supplies and light maintenance activities. Supports the patient care team by performing multifunctional activities such as direct patient care, under the direction of a Registered Nurse and administrative/clerical support.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions/Accountabilities</p> <p>Supports other direct care givers as needed, under the direction of the R.N., by assigning with activities of daily living such as: Ambulation, Bedpans, toileting, positioning, incontinence, and transfers to chairs, log roll, mouth care, and maintaining patient safety.</p> <p>Ensures Hourly Patient Rounding is incorporated in to the daily Patient Care routine; Records patient charges timely and accurately as described in procedural manual; supports other team members as needed by answering telephones and performing other administrative/clerical tasks.</p> <p>Prioritizes work and makes changes as warranted, promotes customer satisfaction through positive behaviors and interacting with patient's visitors and staff members.</p> <p>Assists patients with menu completion; reviews for correct choices according to prescribed diet and delivers menu to dietary office.</p> <p>Communicates diet changes and patient discharges/transfers to dietary office.</p> <p>Prepares patient and environment for meal; passes tray and assists patients with meals as patients' needs require; documents intake, I/O and vital signs; Collects trays, prepares and delivers nourishments to assigned patients; provides water, ice and all between meal dietary needs to patients; prepares and delivers special or late trays upon request; orders and maintains standard stock foods.</p> <p>Transports assigned patients throughout all areas of the hospital as directed, to include lifting and assisting patient from bed to wheelchairs and back as may be required; Assists with patient transfers and discharges, including removal of equipment from patient rooms after discharge.</p> <p>Performs supply acquisition and distribution on-unit as needed; Distributes clean linen and collects dirty linen.</p> <p>Assists with orientation of new employees as requested.</p> <p>All other duties not specifically assigned.</p> <p>Position Requirements</p> <p>Education: High School diploma or GED required.</p> <p>Experience: Three (3) to Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in field or profession preferred.</p> <p>Technical Skills: Must possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal; must be organized and detail oriented and able to prioritize in a fast paced environment.</p> <p>Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: BLS required within 3 months of hire.</p> <p>Schedule: Minimum 24 hours per month</p> <p>Status: Per Diem (PRN) Variable</p>
