<p>Nemours is seeking a Research Lab Manager to join our team in Wilmington, DE.</p> <p>The Biobank & Molecular Analysis Program (BMAP) Lab Manager is responsible to work with minimal supervision and performs assignments independently as discussed and approved by Principal Investigator/Laboratory Director, Research Scientist and or Program Manager.</p> <p>Primary Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Independently oversees and performs laboratory experiments and procedures in support of BMAP lab goals (e.g., biorepository, cell/tissue culture, molecular biology technologies genomic technologies, etc.). </li><li>Must have understanding and proficiency with molecular biology and genomics-based applications including, general molecular biology techniques including RT-qPCR, PCR, nucleic acid extraction, QC and quantitation of nucleic acids (Nanodrop, Qubit, Tape Station), and NGS library preparation methods. </li><li>Implement, establish, and maintain robust quality control, laboratory policies, and SOP's including those pertaining to regulatory agencies such as CAP. </li><li>Supervises lab personnel and serves as the primary contact for the laboratory. </li><li>Manages the training of temporary and permanent lab personnel in lab techniques. </li><li>Ensures safety requirements are met and serves as the emergency contact for the laboratory. </li><li>Ensures viability of materials, reagents, and specimens. Monitors results, reports unusual outcomes/errors, and suggests modifications. Collects, enters, summarizes, and analyzes data as needed. </li><li>Contributes to the planning, design and modification of studies and experiments in the research lab setting. </li><li>Participates and presents at research laboratory meetings and contributes to writing of manuscripts and/or grant proposals with BMAP leadership as required. Builds and fosters professional relationships including other departments enterprise wide. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science degree required; Master's degree preferred </li><li>Minimum 5 years significant laboratory experience required; Master of Science Degree can substitute/count for 2 years experience (i.e. 3 years of significant laboratory experience required if hold a Master of Science Degree) </li><li>Must have understanding and proficiency with molecular biology and genomics-based applications including, general molecular biology techniques such as RT-qPCR, PCR, nucleic acid extraction, QC and quantitation of nucleic acids (Nanodrop, Qubit, Tapestation), and NGS library preparation methods (RNASeq, 16S, WES). </li></ul>
