<p>Position Overview:</p> <p>The Industrial Engineering Intern will support the industrial engineering team by assisting in analyzing and optimizing production workflows, improving system efficiencies, and contributing to innovative solutions that enhance productivity and operational performance.</p> <p>About the Role - You will:</p> <p>As a Industrial Engineering Intern, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Analyze production processes and workflows to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. </li><li>Assist in designing and optimizing facility layouts to maximize space utilization and streamline operations. </li><li>Conduct time studies and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve process consistency and efficiency. </li><li>Support data collection and analysis to evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend actionable solutions. </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement lean manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement initiatives. </li><li>Participate in cost analysis and resource allocation projects to support decision-making processes. </li><li>Document and communicate findings, recommendations, and progress to the team. </li></ul> <p>About Our Group:</p> <p>The emerging Proterra continuous improvement/Industrial Engineering group is focused on manufacturing excellence and aimed at improving all aspects of production efficiency. In this role, you will work with automated and manual processes to help understand, define, and improve production flow, efficiency and output. You will apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to analyze potential changes within the process and make data backed recommendations to the manufacturing team.
