<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Assists the Pharmacist in the following areas:</p> <ul> <li>Customer satisfaction </li><li>Processing medication orders </li><li>Preparing and delivering medications </li><li>Completing inventory control functions and </li><li>Additional assignments given by the Pharmacy Managers </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High School Graduate ( or GED) Required; Graduate of accredited Pharmacy </li></ul> <p>Technician Program</p> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>License/Registration/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Must be registered as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy intern with the SC Board of Pharmacy </li><li>National Pharmacy Technician Certification and State Certification </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirements</p> <p>Preferred Education</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience</p> <ul> <li>Hospital Pharmacy Technician experience of 1 year (Clinical Area) or Retail Pharmacy 2 years experience </li></ul> <p>Preferred License/Registration/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>Core Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Follows attendance, dress, education (including continuing education) and safety polices </li><li>Complies with appropriate regulatory agencies' requirements, e.g. DHEC, DEA, etc. </li><li>Retrieves, packages and labels all medications accurately for routine deliveries </li><li>Deliveries are prepared and ready to go out on time. Quickly and accurately delivers medication and retrieves necessary documents and materials from units for return to Pharmacy </li><li>Fills medication bins accurately and timely for Cart Exchange </li><li>Responds to STAT medication requests in a timely manner </li><li>Packing Medications for Unit Dose Delivery </li><li>Fills Department Requisitions </li><li>Dispenses controlled substances in accordance with established professional and current legal requirements to include labeling and record keeping </li><li>Stocks and checks assigned areas of the Pharmacy and the hospital for regulatory compliance with medication storage </li><li>Processes Crash Carts timely and Accurately </li><li>Demonstrates and utilizes aseptic technique and mixes, compounds and prepares medications Including IVs </li><li>Restocking Automated Dispensing Cabinets </li><li>Conducts Medication Reconciliation </li><li>Checks Prepackaging and Verifies Packaging Accurately </li><li>Tech check Tech responsibilities as applicable for re-dispenses </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul>
