<p>Apply</p> <p>Description</p> <p>Hooverwood Living is a renowned senior living community nestled in the heart of Indianapolis, Indiana. With a rich history spanning over a century, we have been dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to older adults since our establishment in 1902. We specialize in skilled nursing, short term rehabilitation, and dementia care. Whether it's assistance with daily activities, specialized memory care, or simply companionship and support, we are here to ensure that every resident receives the highest quality of care and attention.</p> <p>Staff Development Coordinator Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Planning, teaching and documenting in-service education for all employees in accordance with all federal, state and local regulations. </li><li>Maintaining library resources, instructional materials and equipment for use by employees, physicians and students using our facility for clinical experiences. </li><li>Will be responsible for performing new employee physicals, drug screenings, and TB testing as part of the new employee orientation/pre-screening and maintaining those records per all federal, state, and local regulations. </li><li>Providing in-service attendance information/ records for all staff and performance observations of nursing staff. </li><li>Provide the Director of Nursing with an annual schedule of education programs. </li><li>Plan, schedule and post notice of education programs in a timely manner. </li><li>Maintain current in-service records of classes conducted, attendance and clinical performance of all staff. </li><li>Preparation of lesson plans containing objectives, course content, method of instruction and method of evaluation for each class. </li><li>In a staffing emergency, the SDC will perform any task that a professional nurse and/or nursing assistant may be called upon to do. This may include assessing resident nourishment and well-being, lifting and transferring residents, dispensing medications and the like. </li><li>Must respond to any emergency and readily must come to the premises in an institutional disaster or emergency. </li><li>Performs other tasks as assigned by the Director of Nursing. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing </li><li>A current and valid Indiana nursing license </li><li>LPN required/RN preferred </li><li>Management experience preferred </li><li>Long term care experience preferred </li><li>Excellent organizational skills </li></ul>
