<p>Overview:</p> <p>The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing all non-instructional operations at Circle City Prep to ensure that the school runs efficiently and effectively in service of student success. The CCO will manage critical areas such as finance, facilities, technology, compliance, human resources, risk management and student enrollment. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the COO will develop and execute operational strategies that allow school leaders and teachers to focus on providing an exceptional education for students.</p> <p>Background on the Organization:</p> <p>Circle City Prep a single-site K-8 charter school that is deeply committed to supporting all students to live up to their power and potential through a rigorous college prep education. Circle City Prep is built on research and best practices of high performing charter schools nationwide and is uniquely focused on educating students on the Far Eastside of Indianapolis. For the last four years, Circle City Prep has been the highest performing public school in our community with a 400+ student body, 90%+ low-income and 30%+ multilingual students.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <p>As the Chief Operating Officer, you are responsible for:</p> <p>OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP & STRATEGY:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement systems, policies, and procedures to ensure smooth daily operations across both current and future campuses. </li><li>Oversee facilities, transportation, technology, risk management, compliance, finance, HR, and student recruitment/enrollment to ensure high-quality execution and alignment with school goals </li><li>Partner with the Executive Director to execute the strategic vision for school growth, sustainability and operational excellence. </li><li>Lead the planning and execution of operational initiatives, ensuring alignment with instructional priorities. </li></ul> <p>FINANCE, COMPLIANCE & HUMAN RESOURCES</p> <ul> <li>Manage the school's budget and financial health in partnership with the finance team and external partners. </li><li>Ensure all state, local, and federal compliance requirements are met, including reporting, charter requirements, and safety regulations. </li></ul> <p>FACILITIES, TECHNOLOGY & VENDOR MANAGEMENT</p> <ul> <li>Oversee building maintenance, transportation, and capital improvements to ensure a safe and effective learning environment. </li><li>Manage vendor contracts for key services such transportation, custodial services,technology, and security. </li><li>Ensure that the school's technology infrastructure supports student learning and school operations. </li></ul> <p>RISK MANAGEMENT</p> <ul> <li>Lead region-wide incident command structure to respond to risk incidents </li><li>Collaborate with Executive Director, Board of Directors, and insurance providers to proactively mitigate and respond to emergent risks </li><li>Serve as lead point of contact for outside counsel, collaborating as needed around legal issues that arise </li><li>Oversee key systems including: annual safety planning, mass notification system, visitor management </li><li>Lead professional development structures for region-wide leaders, including quarterly risk management step-backs an monthly working group to drive improvements related to student safety, business continuity, and general risk management priorities </li></ul> <p>STUDENT RECRUITMENT & ENROLLMENT</p> <ul> <li>Partner with the recruitment team to ensure enrollment goals are met before mid-July each year. </li><li>Ensure that marketing, community outreach, and retention strategies support a full and thriving school. </li><li>Oversee family engagement strategies to ensure a welcoming and accessible school experience for all families </li><li>Additional responsibilities as defined by the Head of School. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>To be considered as a Chief Operating Officer, you must:</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of leadership experience in school operations, nonprofit management, or a related field. </li><li>A proven track record of success in managing complex operational systems. </li><li>Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets. </li><li>Demonstrated success leading teams, coaching direct reports, and building strong cross-functional relationships. </li><li>Exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills. </li><li>A passion for equitable, high-quality education and community impact. </li><li>Belief in and alignment with Circle City Prep's core values and educational philosophy. </li></ul> <p>Provided Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Health Insurance (Includes Vision & Dental) </li><li>Short and Long-Term Disability </li><li>Automatic Employer Retirement Contribution </li><li>Employee Assistance Program Benefits </li><li>Provided technology </li><li>CPR class </li></ul>
