Provides support and communicates necessary information to patients and physicians regarding surgery scheduling.</p> <p>Formal Education Required:</p> <p>a. High school education or equivalent; Post-high school level coursework in healthcare or related field preferred.</p> <p>Experience and Training Required:</p> <p>a. Computer experience - proficient in MS Word - MS Excel, MS Power Point preferred.</p> <p>b. One or more years experience in medical office or clinical setting.</p> <p>c. Knowledge of medical terminology.</p> <p>Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:</p> <p>a. Must maintain confidentiality of patient, employee, or financial records.</p> <p>b. Skill in interpersonal communication to effectively interact in person and over the telephone with patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital personnel.</p> <p>c. Skill in alphabetical/numerical filing.</p> <p>d. Microcomputer proficiency including at least MS Word; and willingness and ability to acquire such skill to operate application packages used by department (e.g., to enter and retrieve data, register and schedule patients, enter charges, and/or type routine correspondence).</p> <p>e. Ability to perform in a work team environment.</p> <p>f. Ability to effectively interact with all populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.</p> <p>g. Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the customer service policy.</p> <p>h. Consistently demonstrates excellence in attendance, timeliness, and reliability.</p> <p>Level of Physical Demands:</p> <p>a. May exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.</p> <p>b. Prolonged sitting, standing or walking for extended periods of time. Some bending, stopping, and stretching may be required.</p> <p>c. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical.</p>
