<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under the general supervision of the Director of Management and Budget (OMB Director) (Correctional Services Manager), this position provides support for the Department of Corrections, Division of Community Corrections (DCC). This position participates in and makes recommendations for planning, policy formation, program implementation and ongoing monitoring of operations. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, auditing and processing sanctions bills, maintenance of financial journals, accounts, allocation of revenues and expenses between appropriations and/or funds; preparing accounts receivables; preparing financial statements as needed, provide oversight on grant reporting and other financial documents; provide oversight and project management of key financial operations of DCC; and assist the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Accountant and other Accountants in Bureau of Finance and Administrative Services (BFAS).</p> <p>This position assists the DCC Program and Policy Chief in the maintenance and analysis of financial records; providing interpretation and analysis of financial data. The position will be a lead support and back-up for the DCC Business Office Accountant and for the DCC Office Management and Budget (OMB) Budget & Policy Analyst (BPA) and will be trained to perform duties accordingly. This position will be working within DOC software systems including, but not limited to, PeopleSoft, WICS, and Program Data Collection System (PDCS).</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>This position is in pay schedule/range (07-03) with an annual salary of $55889 - $92206, plus excellent benefits. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the State Compensation Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and statutes. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.</p> <p>NOTE: This position has the flexibility of a hybrid in-office and remote work schedule up to 3 days a week.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimally qualified applicants will have:</p> <ul> <li>Experience or training in General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or General Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) </li><li>Experience preparing complete accounting statements and reports. </li><li>Experience monitoring accounting operations (such as reviewing fiscal transactions, coding expenses to appropriate funds, performing audits of AP, etc.) </li></ul> <p>In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will have:</p> <ul> <li>Experience reviewing audits and making recommendations regarding methods to improve efficiency of financial data entries or updates. </li><li>Experience interpreting accounting policies or procedures related to financial or allocation processes. </li><li>Experience completing and managing reports for compliance with fiscal requirements. </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>To apply, click on "Apply for Job" to start the application process.
