<p>Overview</p> <p>Under the direction of the Planning Department's Chief Information Officer, you will play a significant role in the overall content strategy. The Senior Web Content Manager will protect the overall consistency of the user experience and coordinate content for the website.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The general duties and responsibilities of the position are included in but not limited to the information listed below.</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for formulating and updating a cross-platform content strategy. </li><li>Regularly review Google Analytics to suggest improvements in web content and its location. </li><li>Optimize content according to Search Engine Optimization (SEO). </li><li>Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading the organization's website. </li><li>Updating HTML, CSS, and JavaScript regularly. </li><li>Conducting content audits to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information. </li><li>Creating appropriate website content aligned with the organization's strategy. </li><li>Improving the user experience of the website regularly. </li><li>Collaborating with all staff and management to ensure the website aligns with brand strategy and meets the organization's standards. </li><li>Ensuring full compliance with all laws and regulations on the website. </li><li>Perform other related duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Entrance Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Work requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus a minimum of three (3) years of full-time professional experience in web content creation, content management, communications, journalism, or related field. </li><li>Experience working in diverse media formats is required. </li><li>Must have demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and with all levels of management. </li><li>Must have HTML and CMS skills to channel our stories in timely and impactful ways. </li><li>Knowledge of web technologies, standard concepts, best practices, and procedures, including content management systems, web analytics, XHTML, CSS, and Adobe CS suite. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects - some self-initiated - with various timelines is necessary. </li><li>Ability to exercise sound judgment and focus on details as required by the job. </li><li>Ability to manage simultaneous assignments while maintaining a critical attention to detail. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work on diverse teams and experience building strong relationships across a range of functional areas and seniority levels. </li><li>Proven verbal and written communication skills. </li></ul> <p>BOSTON RESIDENCY REQUIRED</p> <p>Terms:</p> <p>Union/Salary Plan/Grade: EXM/($75,000-$105,000)</p> <p>Hours per week: 35</p>
