<p>Overview Standardizes and controls external factors that contribute to the quality of x-rays taken for diagnostic purposes and ensures safety and regulatory standards are met in Medical Imaging Qualifications Certifications: Licensed Radiologic Technologist - Radiography - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA); Registered in Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA); Driver's License - Secretary of State (SOS), Education: Associate's Degree: Related Field; Certificate of Completion: Radiologic Technology, Work Experience: Radiology Responsibilities Clinical Excellence Assures competent personnel, continued skill development, and interfaces with physician and physician office staff as a resource for radiology equipment and procedures for Carle Health Imaging Department Continuously facilitates and evaluates staff orientation, ongoing performance providing positive reinforcement and constructive criticism in a professional manner seeking direction from the manager as needed Performs an ongoing assessment of services and personnel performance/development needs to develop education plans in conjunction with the department of Human Resource Development and the manager Supervises repeat/reject and dose analysis per IEMA regulations reviewing the quality of radiographs submitted to the radiologists for dictation on a routine basis. Provides education/reports to staff, leadership, and regulatory bodies as needed. Continuously facilitates and assesses Quality Assurance in all aspects of the Medical Imaging Department by developing and maintaining programs that help improve patient care and technologist performance. Works closely with staff to ensure total compliance with safety regulations and maintains ongoing monitoring to meet regulatory requirements of the regulating bodies in the medical imaging department Assists with the establishment of job competency programs based on the radiographic skills required taking specific x-rays as needed Participates on committees, which interact with protocols/regulations involving quality filming and procedures Quality Improvement Implements and maintains the radiation protection and the monitoring of IEMA state guidelines for Carle Health. Develop and maintain the quality assurance program to ensure that accurate and quality procedures are performed Services as a member of Carle Health-Radiation Safety Committee Patient Care Performs radiologic diagnostic procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination within the guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards of Medical Imaging to assigned patients of all ages Exhibits competency in performing and imaging radiographic and specialized procedures Deviates from routines when the patient's condition requires it or at the request of the radiologist Obtains and documents accurate pre and post procedure information as applicable Follow DNV patient safety goals Maintains quality care throughout the procedure Practices radiation protection About Us Find it here. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $32.05per hour - $55.13per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
