The purpose of the Nurse Anesthesia (NA) program is to provide students with opportunities for learning experiences that will prepare them, upon completion, to meet requirements to be eligible to sit for the Nurse Anesthesia National Certification Examination.</p> <p>The administrative assistant for the NA program will work closely with the program director, faculty members and 36 nurse anesthesia residents. This position will primarily perform duties for the program director and other faculty associated with the program.</p> <p>Job Duties</p> <p>This position reports directly to the program director for the Nurse Anesthesia Program and BSN to DNP Nurse Anesthesia Program, but collaborates regularly with faculty, staff, students and other professionals. The major purpose of this position is to serve as the administrative assistant for the DNP Nurse Anesthesia Program (NAP) within the Department of Advanced Nursing Practice and Education, College of Nursing. This includes serving as assistant to the Program Director, serving as administrative assistant to the faculty, serving as administrative assistant for the program functions, and assisting with simulation and program admissions and graduation events. The duties of the admin assistant are very diverse and primarily completed independently. The admin must be able to use critical thinking skills and proper time management skills.</p> <p>Overall duties of the administrative assistant include total administrative support to all faculty and staff in the Nurse Anesthesia Program as well as anesthesia students/residents which consists of the Program Director, Assistant Program Director, Director of Clinical Education, DNP-Projects Coordinator, adjunct and part-time CRNA and physician anesthesiology faculty, and at least 36 full-time enrolled anesthesia students/residents. Duties are those tasks done for the program, primarily administrative functions of preparing monthly and annual reports for internal and external organizations, biannual reports for state association, annual reports for Board of Nursing; Program Director Meeting and various programmatic meeting minutes, faculty and student evaluations; prepares documents in support of annual federal funding grants, prepares annual newsletter, prepares all national certification and graduation documents with appropriate seals. Preparation of petitions to travel and reimbursements of travel, typing of program materials, answering external communications from the community, taking phone calls, and taking messages, filing student forms and associated paperwork, word processing, copying, and keeping faculty informed of activities and meeting notices/deadlines within the NAP.</p> <p>This position maintains several student databases, organizes, and collates all program data each semester including: student evaluation of external rotations, internal rotations, course and faculty evaluations (36 residents with 15 rotations each), student licensure and certifications, and schedules students counseling for program faculty. Records students daily evaluations into database and creates semester reports including self-evaluations and clinical evaluations, and coordinates annual program evaluation data, graduate school applications, and internal applications.</p> <p>This position organizes and coordinates student admission interviews, an internal graduation celebration, student and faculty travel. This includes access to Graduate School Application portal to verify and manage application status, organize admissions meetings in the fall academic semester, collate and print forms for interviews, communicate with prospective applicants and admissions committee members, upload, organize, and make admissions documents available for committee members and program faculty, upload and manage DocuSign paperwork for admissions and other pertinent forms that are used for lectures, travel, and reimbursement.</p> <p>Minimum Education/Experience</p> <p>High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.</p> <p>License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education License or Certification Required by the Department</p> <p>None</p> <p>Special Instructions to Applicant</p> <ul> <li>Please ensure your full range of knowledge, skills, abilities, experience and education are listed on your application.
